Clairglow celebrated reaching our fundraising target for Croydon Age UK today, by presenting a cheque for £5,000 at an Older People’s Day event organised by the charity.
Louise Frost, Director at Clairglow, presented the cheque to Patricia Hay, Mayor of Croydon, who accepted the cheque on behalf of Croydon Age UK.
Speaking at the event Louise Frost said “We are really pleased to be here to celebrate Older People’s Day.
As a company we benefit enormously from the experience, knowledge and fantastic work ethic that our older workers bring to our business – they are a real asset and definitely worth celebrating!
Clairglow Heating have been working in Croydon for over 30 years and during that time we have worked in the homes of many of Croydon’s older residents, installing and upgrading their central heating systems.
Through our work in people’s homes, we have seen first hand some of the issues faced by older people, such as loneliness and isolation or the effect of living in a home that is too cold – which is why we are supporting Age UK Croydon – because they are helping to tackle these issues and improve lives.
The staff at Clairglow have been working hard this year to raise funds for Age UK Croydon and we are delighted to be able to present this cheque for £5,000 which we know will be put to good use running vital services, events and activities that make a real difference.”
